Wow, it's the last day of the year...so what are we doing for New Year's? Going to a combined ward dance. In years past, we've done the dance thing, sleep through New Year's, spend the night at a hotel, eat breakfast with the family at midnight, watch the countdown on tv and play video games with the kids all through the night.
My preference for this year would be to stay home. But of course, we're not. Our oldest is performing at the ward dance, so we will be there. We were thinking of bailing out before midnight, but I think my mom would be disappointed. If my dad was here, we definitely would leave before then, but since he's in Tonga, I feel it appropriate to stay and hang out.
So what's so bad about the dance? It's the New Year's greetings. After a night of dancing, everybody is all sweaty and as my friend Uila would say "smelling 'el funk"...of course that's everybody else but me. I don't dance that hard (I usually just people watch) to even break a sweat...LOL. And too, it's the put on a happy face and greet everybody with a kiss and wish them a "Happy New Year's". And that is why I should just stay home.
But anyways, here's to wishing you all a safe and HAPPY NEW YEAR'S. Wish you all the best in 2009!
