Our trek to Tonga

We left for Tonga January 13th. We flew from Salt Lake to Los Angeles. We then flew out of Los Angeles on Air New Zealand to Tonga with a stopover in Apia, Samoa. Here's a few pics:

On our way over to the Air New Zealand terminal in LAX. Here's Haloti with the bags.
Me with the rest of the bags.
Arriving in Apia, Samoa
Deplaning in Apia, Samoa. 1 1/2 layover.
Don't know what Haloti is doing here.
Arrived around 5 am Apia time.
Back of the plane exiting off.
Front of the plane.
Our transit cards.
Sister in laws Esita & Roxanne going through security.
Roxanne (Lopi's wife)
Lopi (Haloti's little brother)
Apia waiting area.
Getting ready to board the plane going to Tonga. Haloti was a little irritated with me and all the picture taking.
View of the ocean - far distance.

Shots taken from inside plane. Arriving in Tonga - Fuamotu airport.

Band greeting all the people arriving.
Haloti making a quick purchase for the Uncles.
Waiting to go through customs.
Picking up luggage.

Uncles Ta'u (white shirt) and Isi (checkered shirt)
I have no idea who this guy is, but he asked me to take a picture of him. So I did.
Esita getting ready to go with their cousins.
Uncle Ta'u, Haloti and Uncle Isi.
Dad and Lopi.
When we arrived in Tonga, it was raining and windy. We were lucky to even touch down in Tonga. We circled around for a little bit before actually landing. Dad was so happy to see us. You could tell he was a little homesick.
Sorry, this is just a few pictures. Over the next few days I'll upload the pictures by day.

Hi Sinai. Your blog is soo cute! It looks like you had a fabulous trip. I hope someday we can go to Tonga and take the kids so they can learn about their heritage. Plus my husband hasn't been back since he left when he was 9. I love all the pics!
