Have you ever seen these commercials:
I think it's pretty sad when they have to make a commercial reminding parents to encourage kids to get out and play an hour a day. I think the thing I remember most about my early childhood is playing outside all the time. By the end of the day, we smelled like dirt. We spent most of our time outside--we were so creative with the games we played. This of course was before video games came into play.
Now, with video games available at their fingertips, who wants to play anymore?
Well, this commercial has motivated me to be more health conscious with my kids. That would explain my dragging them out to the rec with me when I go. Now we just need to work on the eating part. My older two -- they can't seem to drink anything without sugar. I guess you can say we are making some progress because we cut carbonation out. My theory is that if I can help them be more health conscious now, we (or they) can avoid some of the health problems later in life.
I know don't laugh, but I think I'm going through some kind of phase. I'm almost tempted to go green. I've been into the whole recycling thing lately and thinking about getting a second recycling can because A LOT of stuff can be recycled. Stay posted...at the rate I'm going, next thing you know I'm going to turn into a vegetarian. Hahahaha! LOL. I doubt it, but you never know, right?

ha ha ha.. Love the blog.. My kids say water makes them choke. So I solved that problem and stopped buying any kind of drink, including gatorade. Now they all drink water.. Man I remember when we use to play outside in fear of our parents giving us chores if we went inside. Now we cant get them outside.
Good luck to ya. If you figure out the secret let me know.
Great post, Sinai:) I have to agree with the hour a day. That's one of my goals this year is to make sure my kids don't get past an hour of tv a day and that they get more fresh air and exercise every day.
