Hunter 13th Youth

Last Saturday we had a dress rehearsal with our youth. They will be performing on August 22, 2009 along with the other wards in our stake. Each ward was assigned a tongan dance. Our YW was assigned the 'Hiko' -- a juggling dance. Our YM was assigned the 'Taufakaniua'. I give these youth a lot of credit for sticking it out and attending the practices. I know they can't wait for this thing to be over with. The young women looked absolutely beautiful. In fact I told them, "you know, if you forget the motions, it's okay, you guys look beautiful". The young men -- they thought football was a workout...LOL. Good thing there are a few breaks in between because this dance is pretty intense. Good luck to our youth as well as the other youth n our stake. Can't wait to see the performances!

If you live in Utah and want to check it out, it's at the Southtown Expo Center. Program begins at 1 pm.

Some of the YW -- missing about 4 that are suppose to be in it...and a few more that are out of state. We have approximately 26 or so YW.

Aunty Ongo with the Young Women. I owe a lot to her and her sisters - my mom included. Aunty Ongo designed the costumes and made up the motions. My mom sewed the tops and Aunty Silia put together the Young Men's costumes.
