Random Thoughts...

I'm blogging about this only to share and encourage others. In no way is it to "brag about me". If you've been following my blog, you would know that I began my "weight loss journey" back in September 2007. I bring this up because last night I ran into someone that commented on me "looking great". She said, that I motivate her to do something about her weight. I told her that's great and to keep it up and stick with it. Then she joked around about it taking her 5 years. It was then that I reminded her that it's taken me 2 years to get to where I'm at!

When and if you decide to lose weight, you've got to make it a lifetime commitment. Really you do -- it can't be, when I get to this size or to this weight. It's about living a healthier lifestyle. Granted along the way in life, there are probably illnesses that may occur out of our control, but for the most part, why not control what you can?

It's taken me time to get where I am at, but you know, it's become a part of my every day life. That's what you have to keep in mind -- it's not going to happen overnight. You've got to have patience and be consistent. My sisters have heard this over and over -- but if you have a bad day (overeat), just make it a bad day -- start again tomorrow. But don't turn it into a bad week!

Try taking things one step at a time. I would recommend with the eating part. If you really wanna lose weight, slowly cut down your portions! Once you get that under control, then add exercise. I lost my first 30 pounds in just watching what I ate. Then because I wanted to tone, added exercise. Now the two just work hand in hand.

Good luck and hang in there!!! Remember this pic?

Yup, February 2007 -- still can't believe that was me! This is my all-time pic I refer back to!

Wow, what a great accomplishment. Thanks for sharing your story and your accomplishments. You really are an inspiration. I like how you said to make a bad day a bad day and not a bad week. I never looked at it like that. Thanks again!
