LOL at the title...actually it's an update on the changes I'm trying to implement into my life...
SAVING $$$: We are still doing the school lunch thing. Sometimes I wonder if I'm really saving any money by doing this. The kids will take a sandwich, chips, fruit and drink for lunch. Then when they get home, they've only eaten half of the sandwich and everything else. The half that is left usually gets thrown in the trash. Along with that, one twin opted for just chips, yogurt, fruit and a drink for lunch. Yeah, not too nutritious if you ask me. However on a positive note, I'm saving money on the bread & bagels by purchasing them at the Sara Lee discount bread store that is on my way home. We love the Grandma Sycamore bread which normally sells for $2.29 on up for a loaf. At the bread store it's only $.75. Definitely a savings.
As for me and my lunch -- I've been doing good. We usually have leftovers and I don't mind bringing it in for lunch. It is tempting though on days I am running late to make a quick stop by McDonald's or Sonic's to pick up something.
I am still driving the car to and from work. That definitely helps. Our suburban died on us last week. We ended up buying a new engine to replace the engine we replaced less than 3 years ago. I know, sounds like we need a new car already, but the repairs are still cheaper than making payments on a new car. We also found out that the ball joints needed to be replaced. Estimated cost around $1300-$1500. Luckily we found someone who can fix it for half the price.
As for saving money on the utilities -- still working on that one. I've been doing better about unplugging appliances that are not in use. The kids are getting better about turning the lights off when they leave the room.
WORKOUTS: Still at it, other than I'm not working out hardcore like before. Life happens and I can't always get the time I'd like in the gym. The cardio part is fine, but as for the weights, not getting in as much as I'd like. As much as I say I'm going to hit the gym early morning, it hasn't happened.
I am determined to get back into it. Why? I got on the scale yesterday and reality told me that I am putting on weight. Am I surprised? Not really. I knew eventually it would catch up with me. So here's to getting back to eating better and exercising a little harder. LOL.
Check out this article I found on Chalene Johnson's page (the creator of Turbo Jam and other exercise workouts) - HERE. I wish this was my problem with the weight gain, but I know it's the eating.
Other than that, my life is still chaotic and doing the best I can to keep things as balanced as I can. Wish me luck!
