Eventful Days...

Some days stand out more than others...and this past Tuesday and Wednesday...definitely unforgettable.

TUESDAY: It began with me getting the kids off the school. I use to get up, get dressed for work, drop off the kids and then head in. That was not the case Tuesday morning. I slept in as long as possible. When it came time to take them, I basically was wearing these ugly, semi-bleached blue track pants with a red hoodie. Hair was not fixed, make-up half off and teeth not brushed. I was just doing a quick drop off at the school. No need to, right? I didn't even bother taking my purse either. Off to school we went. On the way home, I had my music up loud, no seatbelt on...cruising along. I looked at my rear view mirror and saw flashing lights. I looked around me to see if there were other cars around that the cop could be after....nope, it was just me on the road. I pulled over. Sitting there waiting for the cop, I kept thinking to myself, "of all days to look like a mess, today was not the day". Cop approached the vehicle, asked if I knew why he was pulling me over. I told him I had no idea. He then proceeded to tell me it was because I ran the stop sign. He asked for my drivers license. No license. He asked for the insurance card. No insurance card. Lucky thing I have my drivers license memorized. Gave him that info. He then asked "and why are you not wearing your seatbelt". I apologized and told him I knew I should, I just didn't think to since it was just a quick drop off at the school and back home. He took my info and went back to his car. As I sat there waiting, I sat there and wondered if my license was reinstated. Yeah, due to my procrastination, my license was suspended. I finally paid to get it reinstated and was hoping as I waited that it was updated in the system. He came back and told me he was just going to cite me for "no seatbelt". I guess I should be thankful he was nice enough not to cite me for all the other stuff and cite me for looking so ugly that morning. LOL. Came home, got dressed for work. In the short time it took to get ready, I came out to snow falling.

The drive into work took longer than usual because of the snow. I stopped by the 7-11 to pick up some hot chocolate and doughtnut for breakfast. I lucked out and found a close parking space. As I was walking towards the door to the building, I noticed a parked car running. I thought to myself, someone must be in there. Not paying too much attention I kept walking. Out of nowhere as if there was ice underneath me, I slipped. It wasn't just a slip and then catch myself. It was the ugly slip where your legs go up in the air and you land on your back. I couldn't believe it. Did I really just slip? I laid there for a minute thinking, that's a hint for me to turn around and go back home. As I laid there, I remembered the person in the car that was running. I quickly jumped up. And no, my hot chocolate did not spill at all. The girl in the car stepped out and asked if I was ok. A little embarrassed I reassured her I was fine. I quickly hurried and went into the building. By the time I reached my desk, my back was completely wet. I turned on my space heater hoping it would help dry me off. Happy to say, the rest of the day went well from there.

When I got off work, I took a break from my usual Tuesday night Zumba class to catch the twins pack meeting. They love cub scouts and I'm grateful for the palangi ward by our house that allows them to be a part of it. Here's a few pictures from that evening.

Brydan doing the flag ceremony.

Gideon posting the flag.

The twins old Wolf den. They are not part of the Bear den.

My cute boys!

Their badges, arrow points and belt loops they earned.

A few of the games they played. Wearing a silly hat, they had to keep it on and using their nose, push the ping pong ball across the floor.

This game they paired up tossing marshmallows back and forth using their hats.

This was some kind of balloon soccer. Each team had to get the color of their teams balloons over to their side.

WEDNESDAY: Another fun morning. When I dropped off the younger three at their elementary school, we passed by a parked car that appeared to be overheating. It was parked in the front of the school. When I dropped the twins off, being curious boys, I noticed they didn't line up, instead they stood on the side with their friends staring at overheated car. As I began to drive off, I notice sparks falling from the car. A little nervous, I pulled over and watched. Not too long, flames started to come out of the car. In my mind, I was thinking of the action movies with cars blowing up and it got me paranoid. From a distant, I could hear the fire engine making it's way. I waited around and watched just to make sure everything was ok. What a morning.

As for today...I'm happy to say nothing crazy happened. I did however land another Zumba class. I was referred by my friend Lisa. Thank you so much Lisa!!!! I can not wait. If all goes well, they might add more classes. Crossing my fingers.
