Science Fair

Last night was Ailini's science fair. It was also my friend Teresa's master class. When I first heard she was having a master class, I already had my mind set up I would go. Last Saturday I caught a Zumba event and let's just say, I was lucky to go to that one. So with her class last night, I didn't want to push my luck. I later found out that Ailini's science fair was going on at the school.

Ailini selected her project last month. Since she's been living at my mom's, I kind of spaced it off. Last weekend, we finally got on it and worked on it. Luckily it was an easy project. We worked on it Saturday, put her posterboard together Wednesday night and she took it in Thursday morning.

Trying to be a supportive parent, after I got off work, we went to the science fair. As we were about to leave, my mom showed up with the triplets and Fifita (sister in law Ema's little girl). We all went. Her display was right there as you walk in. We didn't get to walk around much. When we got there, the principal began announcing the winners. When it came to the fifth graders, she called Ailini for 'Honorable Mention'. Wow, what an accomplishment. I was surprised - maybe because it seemed too easy? I don't know, but one thing I do know - Ailini was so proud.
Even though I missed Zumba, this moment made up for it and was happy that I was there.

Good job Ailini!
