The day we arrived in Tonga

We arrived in Tonga on a Thursday morning, January 15th. We were greeted by my dad, my uncles Ta'u and Isi and my first cousin Aiona (Ta'u's oldest daughter). We stayed with Uncle Ta'u and Aunty Kati. When we left Tonga back in '78/or maybe it was '79, my parents left their home to them. When we arrived, my dad was currently staying with them. We decided to just stay where he was since last time we visited Tonga, we stayed with Uncle Manu and Aunty Tila. When we got to the house, they had prepared the following table for us:

Sorry, the picture is not that great, but as you can see, they prepared a lot of food. They thought Haloti's siblings were coming over. Later that day, Haloti tried to sort some of the candies we took:

Here's my dad - relaxing with his fan he never parted with.

The picture below is the neighbor's house from the front living room.

This village is Pa Tangata - we visited here the following day.

This is one of the poorest villages I have seen.

This use to be a dumping area, but they have cleaned it up.

The following were taken at the market place:

We were fed well out there. Here's dinner:

Their pineapple was so sweet. And of course, the food was delicious!

Here's Uncle Ta'u and dad.
