Sorry, I haven't been keeping up. This past weekend our family was separated. By that I mean - Haloti, Soni and Nohe'a went to Texas for Jr's high school graduation. The twins stayed at grandma's and Ailini and I kicked it at home.
Actually Ailini and I were busy with her 'softball stuff'. She had a party on Friday night and then a fundraiser car wash Saturday morning. We also attended a wedding dance and reception over the weekend.
At the wedding (dance and reception) I ran into a few 'old friends' from way back. Friends that I haven't seen in years. It was interesting to hear their remarks about the whole weight loss thing. Some remarks positive...and some in my opinion, not so positive. For example, I had someone comment on how much I lost and then she asked "so, do you starve yourself"? I guess that remark made me think -- okay, so is that what some people think?
I guess regardless of what you do, people will always have their opinions. But on a serious note, those really intersted, I think the latest change I made to my diet works! I am not starving myself. In fact, over the weekend I had a slice of pizza, burger and fries. But I'm back on track again. Check out my earlier blogs about the recent changes.
I finally hit another goal -- to be under 200 lbs. So it's just a pound or three under, but hey, I'm finally under 200. Like I mentioned to someone I ran into at the rec last night, it's about lifetime change -- not a "when I get to this size or when I lose this much". Because when you think of it as a "when I get to..." when you finally get to that point, you stop watching things and then tack the weight back on.
As with everything, there is a time and season for all. Trust me, forever my friends and family would try and get me to "lose weight" with them and I would tell them "no thanks, I'm happy with where I am". Then finally in '07 it was time. And from that point there was no turning back. Still to this day, I am working my butt off at the gym and still watching what I eat. The best thing about it all - I feel great. Go at your own pace and never compare yourself to others! Slow and steady wins the race!

I love it Sinai. I had an Oprah "Aaaahaaaaaa" moment just last month. And I'm on the trek with you. I just recently jumped or should I say ran after and leaped with all I had to get on the Zumba bandwagon and deary...I'm not getting off anytime soon. I'd love to join you guys on a zumba-thon next time it's in town. As for remarks from others...it's wonderful to hear them, good or bad. And the closer you get to lookin' like that hot 20 yr. old Haloti married, the less positive comments you'll get but like Pres. Uchtdorf says- Don't let the voice of critics paralyze you! I love you Sinai and am appreciative that you have allowed us to see inside your journey. Thank you thank you thank you!
Thanks for taking time to stop by and read my blog...especially when I'm just rambling about random things. I know some are sick of hearing about the whole weight thing...but it's a part of my everyday life....at least for now.
Those on the same journey -- keep it up!
Oto -- glad you are into Zumba. I am finding out that it's not for everyone...so I am glad to hear you love it!!! Seriously, it's what motivates me. I love the music and the routine and at the same time, burning some serious calories. Keep it up and we'll definitely keep you posted on Zumba events.
