Sundays...

I love Sundays! However, at the same time I know when it arrives, the next day it's back to work. Lately we've been spending Sunday afternoons/evenings at my mom's. I don't know what it is about Sundays, but I seem to be tired all the time. Always dozing off.

Yesterday, when I was at the gym, I was talking to my Turbo Kick instructor about my workouts. She pointed out a few things...so I just thought I would share...

*If you are trying to lose weight -- it's a good idea to track what you eat. She said that she read somewhere that people underestimate their calorie intake by 1,000.

*Its good to weight train as you are trying to lose weight. A friend of hers was trying to lose weight and told her she was going to hold off on the weight training until she lost more weight. She suggestested to her friend -- why waste time and make it longer? Weight train to tone up as you lose! Also, building muscle helps your metabolism. For every pound of muscle you build, you burn about 50 calories.

*Eat in the morning...and throughout the day. By eating, it helps you lose. How? Eating helps you kick start your metabolism. It's a good idea to eat every other hour or so. It helps keep your meatbolism going.

*She suggested I invest in the bodybugg. It's currently on sale right now and well worth your money. It keeps track of the number of calories you burn. She told me that on average, a person should get in at least 10,000 steps a day which is equivalent to 5 miles.

I am grateful for people like this who are willing to help and offer suggestions. Did I mention she use to hold the women's bodybuilding title years ago?
