Debt Diet Challenge

Someone challeneged me this morning! Basically said to me "you know how you post your diet and all that on your blog?" I said, "yeah, what about it?" Next question, "why don't you do that with your money". I said, "good idea, 'cause I am".

So here we go...time to set a budget. Lately I've been the biggest bargain shopper...however, I must admit, on occasion buy things that are not necessary. I'm going to challenge myself to set a budget, find ways to save money and see how debt free I can be.

First thing on my list to save -- no more vendor lunches at work. I need to make the effort to get up or pack my lunch the day before so I have something to eat at work and not be tempted to spend $5 plus on food from the vendors that bring lunch. That also means -- no more morning stop either!

Back to coupon shopping. Find ways to bring the utility bills down (we have a bad habit of turning the lights on and leaving them on when they could be turned off). And if you have other ideas or suggestions, please share!!!

With the way the economy is, we've been fortunate to have jobs and no pay cuts or anything like that. But one can never be so sure. With that in mind, I would love to be smarter with my money. It's on with this challenge!

There are so many ways to be smart with money! I think the envelope system sounds great...haven't tried it yet, but we are going to start it soon.
