Presents

Christmas is just around the corner. We normally put up the Christmas tree the day after Thanksgiving, but this year we have a head start. Mainly due to the twins being excited for Christmas. Actually these two are excited for any holiday -- as long as they get to decorate.

Last year I hit up Target's after Christmas sale and picked up a few new items for Christmas this year. When I gave the twins the go ahead to decorate, they went downstairs and dragged up everything. We have two Christmas trees - a 9 footer which goes in our family room and a smaller one for our living room.

Once they brought everything up, I wasn't feeling like putting everything up. So what did they do? They started moving furniture around and put up the tree themselves -- the small 7 foot tree and the 9 footer. I'm not sure how they put the 9 footer together (maybe they convinced one of my older boys to do it), but they did. When we get all the ornaments hung (need more hooks) then I'll post a pic of the finished trees.

Here's the pic of some of the items they brought up. Notice the banister? They did that.

Here's where they started re-arranging furniture and setting up the tree in the front living room.

Along with decorating, something my twins like to do? "Make presents". It will be interesting come Christmas day to see what they gave everyone. Actually, it will be interesting the next few days to see what is missing in our house.

In the years past, here's what they've wrapped and given away:

-a pencil eyeliner from my coupon make-up stash, this gift went to my mom
-a box filled with various goodies for their Uncle Lupeni, I think it included a used lipstick or nail polish
-old stuffed animals, triplets & baby Daniel
-books

This year, I know they raided my new toys stash. So some of my nieces will be getting some new toys. With Christmas still a couple weeks out and so far this is just day 2 of setting up the tree, I'm sure the pile underneath the trees are going to only get bigger.

The family room tree.
