Years ago when I was around 8 years old or so...our family would do the whole camp out on the parade route. We would arrive around midnight or so with our chairs, blankets, food, etc. Find our spot - which was on the corner by a 7-11 and by the Pouha home. That was our spot for years. It was such a pain getting everything ready and heading out so late at night/early morning, but we would be so excited. Then around 3 or 4 am, get tired and fall asleep. And then an hour or two later be awoken by sounds of runners finishing the race. Followed by my mom getting our her hairbrush and what not to make us all presentable.
When I got older, I actually got to march in the parade with the Liahona band. I can't remember if it was the first time or second, but right after the parade, I passed out at the park. It was a lot of fun and the Liahona band is still going strong! So proud of them!
This morning I watched the parade on tv. Remind me of the memories above. As for the rest of the day, it will most likely be spent indoors cleaning.
Well, one day I hope I can take my kids to experience this before they get too old.
Happy Pioneer Day!!!!

I'd like to do the same thing too. I keep saying it but haven't taken them. For sure, next year!
