To post or not to post...

A year ago or so, this video was filmed in my friend Julie's Saturday morning Zumba class:

During this time, Zumba sent out a challenge to all instructors to post videos' of their class doing a routine to Shakira's "Waka Waka". I happened to be there the day they were shooting this video. It so happened to be the first time I was doing Julie's version of "Waka Waka" as well. Not really thinking, I thought, "what the heck, just have fun and go with it".

My friend Tonya posted the video on her YouTube channel. I have to admit, every now and then I stop by to view the video and laugh at myself. I also read the "random comments" that are left.

As you know, I teach Zumba. I use YouTube to look up different Zumba routines that other instructors post. When I wasn't teaching, I didn't mind "being in the videos". I didn't mind being in the back and being a "student". Now that I teach, I am hesitant to film videos of my class and post them on YouTube. Why? I guess because I am afraid of the "comments" that one might leave on them. When I go back and read the comments of the video above, some have left some positive comments regarding the lady in the "green shorts". I'm not going to lie, it makes me smile. At the same time, the comments regarding the instructor is not so positive. I love Julie and love everything about her and class. The video above does not do her any justice. She is lots of fun and gives a killer workout. Every instructor has their style and that's what I love about Zumba.

I am proud of my classes and the people that make an effort to come out and do something about their health. I would love to share with the world videos of us working out, however, I am sensitive and don't know if I can handle any negative comments. What to do, what to do. Should I or should I not?

this is the first time i have seen this video & just love it sinai. it shows how much you love zumba & how much fun it can be. sometimes i think i get so caught up in the workout, i forget to have fun. it's tough taking those nasty comments from others who don't care the weight it bares, but i don't think anyone will say anything bad about your teaching. they already loved this "green shorts lady"....i'm sure there are more "green shorts" comments out there.....=)

I really dislike when I see a negative comment come up on there. I just really hope they see the other videos and know she's a great instructor! Such a personal decision to post or not but there may be others out there that would enjoy watching you just as much as you enjoy watching them. You're great and I love your classes!!!!
