For those that know me, know that I LOVE ZUMBA! I came across Zumba last year. It was during the time I was "trying to work out"..now I can say "I work out". It came at a perfect time because I was getting bored with my current workout. Zumba is a latin cardio dance workout. Majority of the music is latin with a mix of pop and other mixes. It is a lot of fun. It's what motivates me to go every Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday morning. Don't be mistaken - it's not an easy class. The cardio workout really gets your heart pumping. If you work out at a high intensity, you can burn anywhere from 600-800 calories an hour.
At the end of one class, I overheard Gabby talking to Julie (instructor) about a Zumba routine she saw on youtube. Well,just a few days ago, I found the video she was talking about. It's the video posted first - we haven't done this routine yet, but looking forward to it. I also decided to post some of the other videos by Yesi.
I'm not sure where she teaches her class, but another important note about Zumba - it all depends on your teacher. At the rec center where I take classes, Zumba is taught by a few other instructors. I've been and taken all the classes and Julie is by far the best. If she's not teaching, then I usually cut class. I think the instructor needs to know how to dance in order to make it fun. There is one teacher at the place I take it that has no kind of rhythmn...and it makes the class lose their rhythmn. So find a teacher that is also coordinated in the latin dance moves.

I take classes at the WVC Rec Center. My favorite teacher is Julie - she teaches Tuesday night at 6 pm, Wednesday morning at 9:35 am, and Saturday morning at 9:00 am. I go to the Tuesday night class and Saturday morning class. There is a class on Thursday, but that teacher is not as good. You should check it out. It's pretty fun and it's a good cardio workout...a lot funner than the treadmill!
