Don't know if I mentioned this already, but a few weeks ago I asked my husband to trim my hair and he ended up chopping off about 4-6 inches. My hair was long - you probably couldn't tell 'cause it was always wrapped up in a bun. So now that my hair is slightly past my shoulder, I can't wrap it up in a bun anymore. Now I actually have to straighten it and fix it.
Years ago when I was still in high school, my mom would always tell me to pull my hair back 'cause my hair looked neater. I always told myself that I would never do that 'cause only 'old tongan ladies' did that. And then after my oldest was born, guess what I did? Yup, pull my hair back and wrap it up in a bun. I think I wore my hair like that 98% of the time.
If you have my hair type, it takes about 2 hours to get it straight. Probably about an hour blow drying it and then another hour straightening it. I finally learned a shortcut - kind of by accident. Late one night, I washed my hair with the intention of drying it and then straightening it - well, it was so late, I fell asleep. I woke up to a big afro. I had to either re-wash it or just straighten it. I figured I would try straightening it. That worked. It cut out an hour. Yay for me!
Going to the gym daily does not help with the hairdo. Last night as I was prepping my coupons for the big Albie's sale I planned out my routine for this morning. I set my alarm to wake up at 4:30 am - straighten my hair for an hour and try to be out the door by 6 am to hit up the Albie's sale. Now those that know me, know that I am not a morning person unless it's something important (to me). Believe it or not, woke up at 4:30, straightened my hair and then head out to Albie's. Arrived there at 6 am. Shopped 'til 7:15 am and then rushed home to get the kids off to school.
After taking them to school, came home and got dressed for work. Then stopped by another Albie's for more shopping. I know, I sound like some crazy obsessed shopping person, but this is definitely one of those deals you don't pass up. With the economy the way it is, I am stocking like crazy while we still have money...LOL.
Here's a break down of my shopping (again, once I get my laptop back, I will upload pics and what not):
I paid $107.49 but saved $686.17.
Here's what I ended up with:
48 Progresso Soups ($.25 each after Q and cat)
18 Nature Valley bars ($.36 each after Q and cat - had to buy these in 6's 'cause of Q)
6 Albie's brand potato chips ($.97 each with in-ad Q)
18 Macaroni Grill pasta ($1.50 each after Q and cat)
46 Fruit snacks ($.05-$.10 each after Q and cats)
40 cake mixes ($.25 each after cat - no Q)
10 cookie mixes ($.27 each after Q and cat)
20 warm delights ($.17 each after Q and cat)
10 frosting ($.17 each after Q and cat)
20 Pillsbury crescent rolls ($.65 after Q and cat)
3 Grandma sycamore bread ($1.57 each - no Q)
10 toaster strudels ($.65 after Q and cat)
10 Pillsbury Grands biscuits ($.10 each after Q and cat)
Not bad if you ask me. And that is why I am addicted to shopping and saving!!!

Whoo Hoo! I love Alberson's and I too am stocking up while we have money...LOL
As for your hair, I can't believe you let him trim it. I would be bald if my hubby did it. If you notice, I cut my hair short so I couldn't pull it back, but I'm growing it out now so I can, because I don't have time to do it everyday...LOL...like you said, the crazy things we do...LOL

How funny I went short about a month ago.. Let me just tell you I recommend it to every person to go short hair once in their life.. I love it, it's easier to straighten and it cuts the time in half.. Cuz I have THAT kind of hair.. LOL.. My hair is a lil past my ears, but it makes me take it out of the bun.. My sis says I finally have some kind of style.. LOL.. How come it seems like we are living mirror lives, the ER, the stitches, and now the hair.. How funny..
Oh and cant forget the Albies sale... Love it..
That is too funny Loyann. I noticed your hair when I saw you in the parking lot several weeks ago. I had to do a double take 'cause I wasn't sure if it was you or not. Way cute your hair! To be honest, I do like it short 'cause like you said, cuts the time down too.
