Everything is possible....right?

Do you ever get overwhelmed and feel like you have no control? Well, that was me a week or two. I felt like I couldn't keep things balanced. Don't know what came over me, but last week I decided that I needed to FOCUS and manage my time wisely. It was a good time to set that goal because over the weekend I received a new calling at church...Young Women President. Last time I worked with the Young Women was over 3 years ago. Some things have changed and so I have some catching up to do.

As I tried to familiarize myself with the members of the General Young Women Presidency, I recognized Sister Cook. Back in 2002 or 2003, I had the opportunity (as well as other Tongan sisters and YW) to work with her on a project for the www.lds.org website. She was currently serving on the General Young Women board at the time. I remembered her because I remember seeing the Proclamation of the Family in her home in a different language. I asked her about it and she said it was Mongolian. They were full-time missionaries there. I can't believe I didn't recognize her when they were first called, but after reading her biography, made the connection. We took majority of the pictures(posted on the lds.org website interactive page) inside her home. Here's a few links of the ones I was featured in: Work on Personal Progress as a Leader and How to Care for each girl

Here's a few with some of the other Young women we went with: Why Personal Progress, Modifying Individual Needs, and Continuing Progress for Mele.

So there you go, that's my 15 minutes of fame.

Now, the real challenge - serving as Young Women President is not just a Sunday only calling. So this should be interesting trying to juggle a full-time job, kids (and everything from parent teacher conferences, extracurricular activities, homework and who knows what else), working out, keeping up with the house (cleaning, laundry..and the list goes on and on) and now Young Women's. I am trying to stay FOCUSED and be optimistic. I think if I just plan and prepare, everything will fall into place, right? And if not, then I will have to re-evaluate everything and hopefully Zumba will still remain in the picture. LOL. Should be interesting! I will definitely keep y'all posted!
