I love going to the gym on Fridays, why? Because there is hardly anyone there. Today my sister Kalo met me there. We started in the weight room. I worked on my arms since I did legs and abs yesterday. Afterwards we headed upstairs to the machines.
At first I was going to run (more like jog) around the indoor track while Kalo walked on the treadmill, but instead, I decided to hop on the one next to hers. I started out with a brisk walk/warm up - one lap which equaled a quarter mile. Then I got daring. Decided to run the next lap. Set the speed to '5.0'. Half way around the lap, I swear I thought I was going to collapse. But I stuck it out and completed that lap. Then I walked the next and so on, alternating.
I only ran/walk a one mile and a quarter. A big accomplishment because I do not run. Never liked it and never could run an entire mile.
Years ago, I watched Oprah talk about running a marathon by the time she turned 50 or something like that. I thought it was dumb. Who would want to set that as a goal? Well, guess what? That's on my list and I am determined to do so - a full marathon. But in the meantime, my first goal is to be able to run non-stop one mile.
Stacy, who is married to my first cousin Mark has truly inspired me. She ran her first 5K last weekend. I actually ran into her when she was signing up, she tried to convince me, but I told her I wasn't ready. I was going to try in June. Check out her blog about her new hobby. Keep it up Stacy! You look great! And I'm sure you feel great too.

Sounds like a great goal for ya Sinai. With you anything is possible.. Let me know when you do it I will be at the finish line cheering you on..
Thanks Sinai! You can totally do it...one lap will lead to two and then three and before you know it you will be running miles! Keep it up.
Good for you on getting on the tredmill. Don't give up, look who I'm talking to, you are Super Woman, you can do anything. Before you know it, you'll be running the marathon and not even breaking a sweat, and maybe if you are, you'll look beautiful doing it.
Sinai! That is so great! Good for you! Mindy and I are going to run in the 5K on the 4th of July in Provo (the Freedom Run), you should join us! That's pretty much what I do, alternating walk/run. I'm so proud of you, way to go! I'm so happy I found your blog, it's fun to see what you've been up to!
